The BBYO regional conventions (especially the winter one) were the highlights of my high school years. In this video we are "singing" the AZA song Up You Men. I always ended up hoarse at the end of a convention. This video was taken at the song competition from the 1993 winter convention, my senior year. My friend Ben (the one speaking) planned this one. Each chapter would come up with two songs on fast (a cheer) and one slow (a brotherhood song). Generally speaking we changed the words to existing songs so they had something to do with AZA. I actually had a knack for this, my friend Josh and I made a few good ones. If you're really interested I posted the rest of the video here and here. Unfortunately the rest of the songs are lost to eternity. I found this nugget with my parents old video camera. The tape is pretty degraded but you get the general idea.

I couldn't understand a word of it - but from what I see on screen I'm a little worried that you're in a cult .... Do your parents know about this?

Yeah, both of them were in it too. Now if you excuse me, I need to get my white sneakers and tin foil hat ready for tonights meeting.

It was truly a pleasure to a) hear your amazing high school singing voices and b) see the little Neil head popping up in the video of the Vancouver kids. :)

    Hope you're both doing well.
