I had planned to write a more substantive post about our Oregon trip but I had a lot of chores to do tonight and so that will have to wait. I did want to post something however, so how about some site news.

In order to save space, Shanna and I typically resize our pictures before we post them. When we started the site I arbitrarily chose a 500 pixel width as what we'd resize the pictures to. This is approximately the size you see them on the screen with Blogger's default formatting. I've decided to change that to an 800 pixel width (typically corresponding to 800x600 pixel files) for the benefit of my digital frame owning viewers (i.e. my Dad). Now you can save photos directly from the blog to use in digital picture frames although the optimal method may vary with your browser. The file size is about 40% larger but it is still much smaller than the raw file.
