On Saturday we went to the Pierce Brothers Westwood Memorial Cemetery. The small cemetery is the final resting place of a rather large number of Hollywood celebrities, including Marlyn Monroe, Dean Martin, Natalie Wood, Jack Lemmon, and Walter Matthau (Click the link for a more complete list). I was surprised to see Ray Bradbury's grave there as well. In one newer section it was popular to put jokes on the headstones. Rodney Dangerfield's headstone said, "There goes the neighborhood" and Merv Griffin's said, "I will not be right back after this brief message". Another gravestone, of someone whose name I didn't recognize said, "Finally under par, " clever.
Later in the day we went to Farmer's Market for lunch. I had a crepe, Shanna and Mara had Korean food, and Ezra had carrots and cereal. Mmmm, carrots and cereal. A final nice touch for the day was that Mara agreed to babysit Ezra while Shanna and I went out to dinner at the Peruvian restaurant, Playa Blanca. As you can imagine we don't go out to eat dinner nearly as much as we did before Ezra was born. Overall this is probably a net positive, we used to eat out much more than we should (we still eat can eat out on the weekends but almost always breakfast and lunch).
