Random wedding nostalgia: Shanna and I were among the first of our friends to get married. When I proposed to her, it never in a million years occurred to me to ask her Dad for permission. It seems that since then, EVERY guy I know who is married asked the future father-in-law for permission to marry his daughter. I figured it was easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.
