Ezra and Amarie enjoying the Bob

I am introducing a new feature to the TBP website - Mommy Reviews - where I'll be reviewing the baby gear we've been using in our attempts to keep Ezra safe and sound and make sure that he grows up to be smarter than us. Of course, we won't know the outcome of the development toys until he is, say 25, but I will still try to discuss some pros and cons, what do I like, what does Ezra like, etc.

Today's topic of discussion in the Bob Revolution Stroller - the stroller, as one guy told me the other day, that "looks like it is ready to go 60 down the freeway". The stroller is a jogging type stroller but is often used as everyday, everywhere type of stroller. It seems to be immensely popular and we see them all over the place now. Aaron and I did ask several Bob users on the street before Ezra arrived if they liked their Bob and they all said "yes!". So we got our bright orange one at REI with infant car seat adapter, cup holder, and diaper bag. The car seat adapter is a huge plus - it allows us to use the Bob while Ezra is very young - too young to sit unaided in the stroller. The stroller has a suspension system which is great. Even though our neighborhood has sidewalks, it proved to be a bumpy ride when we used the Graco Snap'n'Go (review to come later). When we used the Bob revolution stroller on the next walk, it was like night and day. Smooth sailing all the way to the local Ben and Jerry's. It is easy to fold up - actually much easier than the Graco Snap'n'Go which routinely befuddles me in the parking lots with an impatient kid in the car.

My only complaint with the Bob is that it is not really ideal for people, like us, who live in condos/apartments. It takes up quite a bit of room even folded. It is quite heavy and we have the unfortunate situation of having to deal with a least one flight of stairs to get to ground level which makes it very awkward to take it out and about from our place. I did try to keep it stored in the car for awhile, but again, it is pretty big so we pretty much lost our trunk space. And it is impossible for a small person like myself to carry it folded with one hand. So I can't carry baby and folded stroller at the same time. Even with these hassles, I don't think I would go with another stroller. It is just way too nice to use (once I do get it out). Plus, I'm not sure any other stroller would be any better - we are just in the unfortunate situation of wanting a rugged and sturdy stroller where it is a little inconvenient to own one.
