Ezra talks with his grandma

Unfortunately, none of Ezra's grandparents live nearby. Besides the obvious free-babysitting benefit for Shanna and me, seeing their grandson on a frequent basis would bring a tremendous amount of joy to our parents. Well I can't do anything to get my free-babysitting, but I'm a big enough geek that I'm not going to let a little thing like a thousand miles keep our son from seeing his grandparents. I've set up our parents and siblings with webcams and worked out the kinks of using them with Skype. This required some advance planning. My goal was to have everything working by the time we told our folks we were expecting. I really wanted to see the expressions on their faces. Everyone has varying degrees of computer skills and equipment, what worked on my inlaw's computer, didn't on my parents. Our home computer required some upgrads to work reliably. Convincing everyone to set up the camera without telling them why took some finesse. As you can see from the above photo it has all worked out. Now, should I go the next step and pick up one of these robots?

She is telling Ezra everything she knows and he still doesn't know anything.

I've got it in my head to get a Skype in to you on Wednesday night, hope I'll be able to catch you in (don't worry, I'll keep trying if you're not).

I meant Ezra is too young and g'mother wants him to know everthing now - not the other implication. ;-)
    (warning: extrication in progress :-))
