(Barefoot and Pregnant in the kitchen - this picture was taken almost two months ago - so my belly is much, much bigger. Aaron says not that much bigger but I look at this photo and go, ah, the good ol' days.)
As many of you know, I'm a self proclaimed foodie. I love to menu gaze (one of my favorite activities exploring neighborhoods) and meander through gourmet food stores (one of Aaron's least favorite activities). Oh, and don't get me started on cook books. And I do enjoy to cook. But I always tended to cook complicated things which meant long times in the kitchen and big messes and with my hectic schedule that meant one (if any) cooking sessions a week. For a long time now, Aaron and I have been utilizing the ease of the Trader Joe's lifestyle. But then I found this
article in the dining section of the New York Times (which I read religiously every Wednesday, naturally). And I finally evolved - keep it simple! And it is ok to improvise. I've prepared dinners and lunches for almost all of our meals in the last two weeks. Tuna wraps and tomato bread salad! Homemade tomato pasta sauce or chicken breast sandwiches! I'm really happy that I evolved before Baby comes. I am on my way to becoming a domestic goddess. Well, I've taken one step. As soon as I can learn to enjoy cleaning, laundry, and all that other stuff, I may become the real thing. But then again, that's why I have Aaron.
